Tent City: Inside the Boundaries of the Outside

seeks to create an exhibition space that encourages playful interaction, reflection on our relationship to formal art spaces, and the creation of art as a shared, participatory act. By bringing the outside indoors and reimagining the gallery as a site for both performance and contemplation.

Key Concepts and Themes:

Bringing the Outside Inside
The gallery space will be transformed into an environment that evokes the feeling of being outdoors. Visitors will encounter elements of nature—textures, sounds, and visual cues—that transport them beyond the confines of the exhibition space. This contrast invites visitors to think about boundaries, surroundings, and how they see things.

Gallery Activation and the Importance of Play
Traditional gallery-going habits are often passive, with visitors quietly observing artwork from a distance. "Tent City" aims to disrupt this by encouraging unexpected interactions between participants, the space, and the artwork itself.

Audience as Collaborator
In this exhibition, participation becomes integral to completing the artwork. Visitors are not merely spectators but active collaborators in the unfolding scene. This shift in behavior invites reflection on how we typically experience art and how we can challenge those conventions.
